Abstract:
Multiagent systems enable to model decentralised decision-making for local entities in autonomous logistics. However, extensive testing and evaluation is still important, since runtime interactions between agents cannot always be predicted at design time. Multiagent-based simulation applies the concept of multiagent systems to simulation. Hence, it should allow to easily transfer agents between operation and simulation. However, in contrast to reality, time in simulation does not progress implicitly. This has a potentially high impact on agent implementation. We present an approach for uniform agent design that disburdens the programmer from considering time progression in simulation explicitly.
