Major Online Publication Policies

General

Definitions:

  • A preprint is assumed to be the manuscript in the form prior to submission, at which point copyright is transferred.
  • An author-submitted manuscript is the version originally submitted by the author.
  • Accepted manuscript is a version which has been revised by the author to incorporate review suggestions
  • The final, published version is the reviewed and accepted article, with copy-editing, proofreading and formatting added.

Rules:

  • In any version archived by the author after submission, the publisher will be credited as copyright holder.
  • Upon publication of the work, authors are asked to include either a link to the abstract of the published article and/or the article’s Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
  • Authors and/or their employers shall have the right to post the accepted version of articles on their own personal servers or the servers of their institutions.
IEEE

Specifics:

  • In any version archived by the author after submission, IEEE requires that IEEE will be credited as copyright holder. Upon publication of the work, authors are asked to include either a link to the abstract of the published article in IEEE Xplore, or the article’s Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
  • In any electronic posting permitted, the following copyright notice must be displayed on the initial screen displaying IEEE-copyrighted material:

“© 20xx IEEE. Personal use of this material is permitted. Permission from IEEE must be obtained for all other uses, in any current or future media, including reprinting/republishing this material for advertising or promotional purposes, creating new collective works, for resale or redistribution to servers or lists, or reuse of any copyrighted component of this work in other works.”
